hi everybody Welcome to Homestead horsemanship it is Saturday January 4th and we have a lot of chores to do today because they’re predicting a huge weather event um for those of you that are new to the channel we’re nestled back here on a dead end road kind of a Hidden Valley here in the Ozark Mountains in southern Missouri I raise and train and show Missouri Fox troter horses and um we also have started raising um Clyde stales lately and you know we have a wonderful Clyde stale named Oliver he’s our Stallion and I’ve
got my overalls on ready to do chores so we’re here on the horse ranch and I’m dressed for it so I guess you should say I’m ranch dressing oh my gosh Jr you like that one and I got the accents going oh but there’s actually four horses in this pasture that we need to get out I don’t know why they’re not together there’s two babies in here chellan Prince where are they so we’re going to we’re going to put it these four in the round pin for now then that herd up on the hill we’re going to move to this side of the
pasture probably add a few more over here and then put round bales out because this pasture has Springs in the creek and it doesn’t freeze even when it’s 0 degrees so I don’t have to water or theal um you know in the fast flowing spots a lot of it freezes but there’s always a a spot they can get water I don’t have to do uh water tanks and and and it’s pure clean water we can drink out of the creek ourselves so let’s take them inside and we’ll find the babies in a minute good boy okay we have Legacy and
groovy caught yep so that’s good start uh Legacy be a 2-year-old this year and uh grovy is almost three okay moving on okay we’re heading out to get chantilli and Prince they’re all the way back here okay so this is emy’s favorite uh F we have had her name is Shan Tilly lace she’s related to almost everything here she’s out of our good M Jesse she’s very sweet she was our biggest fo ever 125 pounds at Birth which is a Whopper hi sweetie you know em I was thinking about that my you know my dress Comet M and
with this happy colored vibrant yellow shirt on yeah guess you could say I’m a Jolly Rancher have you been looking up things like that no is it the mustache man Prince has a he has a pretty stride on him reach come here groovy what groovy no no come on buddy push him in come on go on go with your buddies good [Music] boy okay we are headed down the road I look driving say hello all right so before I move the horses is in here um I’ve had this old this round bale out for the fos for a long time and they just haven’t cleaned
it up real well cuz fos just aren’t real aggressive on a round bale plus there’s still grass in the pasture so I’m going to take the hay ring off of it spread it out a little and make the Mars clean it up before I put them out a new round bale probably after the snow tomorrow and then there’s a toost that I’ve been using for a gate hold open that I’m worried since I’m going to be feeding right here that they might it could cause damage I’m going to pull it and clean up some junk around just to make
the area a little you know more foolproof for the horses and then we’re going to move them straight across over into this pasture [Music] okay here’s Jessie that’s chell’s Mom no not here comes lucky yeah thank you I’m mom here is Boots y good girls come on here’s darling she’s going to have a full this summer Here Comes fra line come on this is Bryce’s Little Fool she is getting big though come on [Music] babies and here comes boots and happy you to okay cut Natty off if you want Cut Her Off okay we’re going to cut
Natty off cuz she is going to stay over here you got her okay we got them all over here they’re going right to the hay bale say I hungry now people will probably wonder why I took the hay ring off yeah it’s just cuz that one’s been out there for so long now at this point I just want them to spread it out and eat what they’re going to eat if they weigh some of it they weigh some of it yeah and that way tomorrow after the snow when it’s covered up in snow put I’ll bring a fresh one out and set it in the hay ring
over there then they have two different spots some can be there digging up that hay and some can be eating on the new fresh Bale and natti’s over here but she’s not going to be by herself for long no I’ll probably put some of them babies we just caught in with her chantii and Prince and possibly uh Patty yeah Beauty and Patty maybe we’ll see we’re not sure what we’re doing yet we she may end up over there with the herd but we’re just keeping her here right now okay next step hey drive away here
we go okay so J’s getting a hay bale we’re going to take it down and put it on natty side of the pasture before we set the round Bell out you got we got to take off all the string natti’s already liking it don’t nutate the string [Music] [Music] so Jar’s cleaning up some stuff we had a big cedar tree right there that needed moved out of the way and then we have these giant beams of Steel I don’t know what they were from what when we first bought this Farm probably eight years ago yeah uh we used those and we put a bunch of chains
between them and we drag them around so we could drag all the rocks out the okay and that’s what we used them for but just been laying there sitting in the woods for like seven years but last month or two he brought him down Dr him down there yeah so we’ve been meaning to move them so Isaac just said he doesn’t think Natty is going anywhere she’s in love with her hay bale she says it’s all my own okay so we’re getting Patty and Beauty now will be the first time that beauty meets Natty yeah that’s kind of that’ll
be fun I’m facing the wrong direction yeah I was wondering what’s going on okay can we go through your Pony pasture I think be the easiest yeah as long as the ponies don’t attack we’ll be all right I think Beauty can stand up to a pony attack you think okay we’re going to go through the pony pasture Chase your Pony off fam Winnie always starts fight come on back up there’s Penny Talking come on walk good girl she’s going to run that way so if you want to go that way okay back here jar just let Beauty go here she
comes hi babe so she has not been out in this pasture she’s only been with Patty and Oliver and Luna and she’s never met Natty natti’s down here so this will be their first meeting oh she sees everybody there goes Patty okay we’ll have to catch up we can’t see way back here try to water walk down there so you guys can watch it at the same time but it’s probably a little Wiggly how me Patty’s feeling good for 25 years old Beauty’s excited yeah some praning this is not very good videoing oh did you get that
yeah I mean I’m not very zoomed in but I got it Natty doesn’t care she just in love with her hay bale oh look at Patty playing that’s cool now he says back to my hair B it’s funny natti’s not wound up about it at all two new look at them there they are together there we go jeez Beauty’s [Music] excited that’s that about where I think it should be NY says where’s my food at that hi baby a she just wants back on the hay b a sweet girl okay well that’s Natty and Beauty’s first time meeting together kind of cool
yeah hopefully they make a really good team someday for driving yeah I think uh Natty might be a little calmer than [Laughter] her Patty’s having fun too that’s good to see Patty looks good right now okay we’re gonna we’re going to get to two big boys out and they’re going to go out over on the hillside where Beauty and Patty were just for the next until the weather gets a little better here goes Legacy they were over here in this pasture together before I think yeah yeah so it’s nothing new to
them so we’ll be able to feed and water them and then we might move them down the road once the weather gets a little better yeah and this way I can bring them in the barn real quick too when it gets real bad okay okay now we got to take chilly and Prince down the road to we’re going to put them in with beauty Patty and Nattie baby yes you are oh you little turd he went and out grew his full halter on me well he I was going to say he is 10 months old so he’ll be um okay heck he might be 11 months old he’s getting old
no birthday was the end of February this is January I thought it was March she’s 8 months old nope it was the end of February cuz he was early he’s a b he’s a little pony then he’s a pony he’s going to be a year old oh my gosh I’m I could be wrong it could be the end of March but I’m pretty sure his birthday is February end end of March Fe no I think it’s February 26th 25th something like that I’ll have to confirm it I’ll put it if I’m right I’ll let you guys know later on in the video and if I’m right she’ll never say
another word about it yeah I’ll delete this if you’re [Laughter] right so you can get maybe guess who’s going to be taller you have a younger one that’s a foot taller already he’s just a tiny little baby b tiny same father same size brood mares and we have my 62 lb smallest Fox strer ever born and my 125 lb largest Fox trer ever born they’re both adorable it’s crazy that those are out of the same stallion the snow is started I don’t know I don’t think you can see it on camera maybe you can your horse just bit me in she’s
pulling on the lead rope they’re too cute I’ll just keep filming them I can’t turn it off ow oh she did it again was that cuz she’s mad she just a baby thing chant Telly we don’t like him he want to be over here with me just thinking about it again don’t you get she’s probably wanting the grain uhuh that’s what I was thinking cuz you’re not giving me the grain any I give you a Whittle oh here comes Jesse to see her baby yeah there’s your baby oh you talking to her that’s so sweet babe everybody’s coming to say hello to
them he said we missed you so when we first first Wing Prince he and Natty stayed together for quite a while and they were very buddy buddy they got along really well and then of course both the fools have been in the herd with Patty and Natty over the year but they’ve never been with beauty before okay here goes Miss chanly oh look at him oh that’s a don’t what he’s doing right there is a sign of of submission that weird little Grimace smile chew that’s that’s saying I’m a baby don’t hurt me I’m just a baby so
then there’s no um I think she they understand well they understand and there’s no there’s no pecking or they don’t need to establish a pecking order cuz the baby is just like I’m a baby and then the Mayors don’t do the whole and Beauty obviously understood there too pecking order for dominance thing yeah she didn’t go that’s good oh looky she says hi oh so shantell’s doing it to oh yeah to Nat I wouldn’t think she’d do it to Natty because they were kind of Playmates yeah she’s doing it to Prince is doing it to Patty again Patty
you well Patty is Patty’s over that lick tub yeah so that was over food dominance there oh it’s so sweet I’m doing that but that was a very gentle scolding too it’s funny how G most of the time the older horses are to the fulls yeah most for the yeah most of the time I’m not saying always it’s okay that’s chantily Beauties walking around I think they’re all G to do and Prince is a lot better at social interaction than Chantell is that’s why he’s going up to him and doing the submissive thing and he’s making friends right off and
Chantell is more fearful and walks away which will lead to bullies picking on them more yeah and that’s like Chantell and Prince have been with um Legacy and groovy and Prince like fit right in the whole time he was just like buddy buddy but chanelli never she didn’t fully yeah she was I don’t know kind of always little Legacy is a bully though he he really likes to pick on them and just rough house a little too rough and but he’ll get over it okay I think they’re going to do good so the next thing we have to do is
pull shoes off of some right yep there’s three of them out there in the pasture that who is it lady lady Jesse and uh lucky lady Jesse lucky and so I have my three horses that have have um shoes on right now caught and I’m going to pull their shoes and trim their hoves down flat because the snow packs inside of that horseshoe and then balls up and they’re they end up standing on like a 4in ball of snow before it’ll Shear off and they could roll an ankle and it’s just not good for them plus um lucky and Jesse are 100% full sisters
and there’s something in them that makes their hair curl like this not curl that’s tangle well tangle into circles yeah and it’s always in the same spot yep so we’re gonna every time we catch Jesse up she fixes that and then her man’s all messed up look that’s from that tree we showed they have a special tree they like to rub she’s ruin in her M too yep we need to take I’m going to go ahead and cut that tree down yeah it’s not worth it all we got to do is get them good and cleaned out first these have been on a little longer
than what I should have left them on on I just got to hammer these clinches straight up so they’re bent over to keep the shoe on and then the shoe should just pull right off yep and you try try to get this right up in there okay and then once you’ve got it through you go down and towards the center okay and then up here there you work your way forward go down and towards the center and over here Y and then take H knife and pair that out right around there so first one’s off got 15 more to pull pull yeah not 15
horses 15 shoes my suggestion to all you horse people is don’t learn how to do this because then you’ll have people want to do want you to help them and he’ll end up doing your own to save Mone it and it’s really hard on you didn’t do a very good job cuz but it’d be good enough she’ll wear them the way she wants them but that’ll be enough to keep the snow from building up in them and then whenever I get done filing on a shoe look hoof like this that I just took a shoe off of you don’t want you want to take the edge and
round it all the way around so that it doesn’t split and crack as easy okay so Jar’s mom just got here so we switched from pulling lies to now jar is working on Stars so she’ll get her shoes pulled and then head back down to Grandma’s okay this is luy’s last shoe she’s getting pulled off I got her man brushed out brushed you up a little bit she enjoys it once that last shoes off she’ll just go back out in the pasture look okay it’s icing it’s coming in okay next up is Miss Lady she’s had her shoes on for a while
so she needs a trim them taking off and a trim um but J’s also getting tired so we’ll see how much gets done and then I think ladies just I’m not ladies um Jess just need need to be pulled real quick a pretty girl [Applause] yeah okay we got two shoes off Jesse J working on the third I got her man [Music] untangled L’s over there waiting on her got her done too yeah L’s done and I trimmed her feet yeah L’s feet are trimmed and then once Jessies are pulled off they’ll just go back out to the pasture she’s such a pretty
girl look at that face so pretty okay so we’re up at the pony barn now Jr’s finishing up uh Jesse and it’s just getting dark out now we’re running out of daylight hours this has taken a lot longer than I expected so the ponies are pretty much situated uh Winnie and Daisy are finishing up their grain right here I got some more alala we’re going to throw in the tack room and we got some fresh bedding down uh everybody’s in here finishing up their dinner we got Penny Thomas Rapunzel Eugene’s over here so tomorrow morning
we’ll see how much snow we have we’ll come back out and visit them when you guys can see a little bit better maybe we’ll see Thomas running around playing in the snow I’m hoping that would be a lot of fun the pony Barn sh looks cute though at night with the lights going [Music] [Music] hey everyone so it’s the next morning and as you can see the storm has hit and it’s not uh snow right now it’s just ice it’s pretty crazy let me turn the camera around so you can see a bit better so it’s white but that’s literally just ice
right now unfortunately it looks like I didn’t even think about separating the ponies cuz they all come in here quite often together but it looks like um Rapunzel was pushed out and she’s shaking right now so Gia does seem pretty cold so um I’ll go ask Jr see what he thinks if I should put a blanket on her with her being wet or if she needs to dry a little okay Miss Rapunzel has her blanket on she’s not very happy about being locked in there though so we might just let her out I don’t know I think with the blanket on she be okay
you want to come out she just does not seem happy in there so we’re going to let her out I’d watch them oh you want it out very badly huh okay my goodness goodness Rapunzel Jes we probably won’t get any videos right now uh when it calms down later or tomorrow we’ll go back out unless it just starts turning into a soft snow where it makes it a bit um easier to film and stuff but this is pretty much what you get to see right [Laughter] now well as you can see the snow has hit our Homestead it’s absolutely beautiful
uh Jr’s getting the Bobcat I think we’re going to get a hay bale out they devoured the other hay bale we put out for them uh so we’ll let you come along and see that and then uh we’ll just kind of go check on everybody see some pretty horse uh snow videos hey J got ay B [Music] round to coming [Music] we got everybody fed a new hay bale out hi happy are you enjoying the snow hun everybody’s looking pretty content and then on this side of the road we have everybody else um they have a hay bale still but
